population Growth in Bangladesh
Bangladesh is a small country but has a huge population. It is one of the poorest and densely populated countries in the world. The total land area of Bangladesh is 1,47,570 square km. Approximately 160 million people live here. The density of population is 1035 per square km.
Its growth rate is 1.32%. Now the most alarming and conerncing issue for Bangladesh is its population growth. Population growth is causing the major problem of food shelter, Medicine, clothing and education. Cultivable lands and forests are decreasing day by day in order to make
shelter for the increased population. Food production is not increasing in comparison to the population growth. More and more mills and factories are being established to increase production. But, it is decreasing agricultural production. Vehicles are increasing to cope with
the increasd population. At the same time, its causing serious environmental pollution. Increased population is making the existing unemployment problem more severe. If the population growth
rate continues at the present rate, population explosion may occur. The whole country will turn into a forest of concrete cement. It will not remain a liveable place. We must control population growth now otherwise its consequence will be dangerous and catastrophic.
